For so many years in my life, I struggled with low self-esteem. I never felt comfortable in my own skin. I never felt a part of, I always felt different, and a lot of this started in my teenage years, growing up with a so called learning disability in small classrooms while a lot of my friends were in much larger classrooms. And there’s so many different degrees and levels of self-esteem that we all have in our teens, 20s, 30s, and later in life. But what I’m going to teach you is what worked for me to slowly but surely develop that self-esteem that I was looking for my entire life.
That a solution to this, at least for me, is I wake up every morning thinking about what I can give to the world, and I’m so far from perfect. None of us are responsible for the thoughts that come in between our two ears, but we are responsible for how long we want think those thoughts. And we should have the tools by now and how to get out of our own way.
To me, I think by giving, by helping other people, friends, colleagues, family members, loved ones. Even going to your neighbor, asking them to walk their dog. Help somebody across the street that’s struggling or carry their groceries to their car. These little acts of kindness will slowly but surely get you out of your own head can develop self-esteem.
And once again, these solutions worked for me, it doesn’t mean they’re going to work for you, but it’s just a suggestion.
